happy easter.
The left side of the picture was Roman last year and to the right was Roman this year, with the same bunny ears on. Yup, my little boy celebrated his second Easter (already). This year we took pictures with the Easter Bunny for the first time. Roman wasn't having it and I don't blame him, because I think they look creepy too. So Sal and I had to jump in the picture. We "attempted" to color eggs and it was an epic failure. We used food coloring and followed the directions. To me the color was so washed out and faint. I wanted vibrant colors. There's always next year, right? Then we headed over to Sal's mother's house for delicious food, tons of family, and Roman's first time participating in an Easter egg hunt. I adored seeing him play with his cousins. He is hardly ever around any children, and when I see how excited he is, it makes me feel guilty that he doesn't get to do it often enough. It is something that will have to change.
For me, Easter was bittersweet due to the fact that my family did not celebrate it.It made me remember the Easter egg hunts we would have at my aunt's house and her delicious deviled eggs, my sister always finding the most eggs and being able to have all of us under one roof. Now we are all adults and there really isn't any children in the family. It felt like the end of an era. That's why it made it extra special for me to be with Sal and Roman, swarmed by children laughing and playing. You can't help but think back about when you use to do the same things.
lol.
